FEMALE DA VINCI ROBOTIC RADICAL CISTECTOMY
Authors: Dr M Gamarra and cols
We describe in this video a robotic approach to a female infiltrative bladder cancer. Robot-assited radical cystectomy (RRC) and ileal neobladder was performed in a 65 years old women with a T3a G2a transitional bladder tumor. RRC provides feasible comparable surgical outcomes to open approach. Similar lymph node yield as well as lower blood loss, longer operative time, lower analgesia needs, shorter time to flatus and bowel movement are achieved. Hight-definition, three dimensional optics and wristed instruments allow advantages for approaching. Our technique combines the advantages of robotic and open surgery to create a procedure that is safe, quick and precise minimizing complications and improving surgical results.
